Crack Sealing
Crack Sealing
As asphalt ages, cracks may begin to appear due to moisture and temperature change. Crack sealing is a cost effective method that prevents further damage to broken pavement. This preventative measure offers a quick fix to ensure water does not penetrate the cracks, weakening the base below the pavement.
The crack sealing process begins by a thorough cleaning of debris and dirt from the property to ensure the sealing solution adheres to the pavement. The sealant is heated at extreme temperatures and then poured within the cracks. The sealant is spread along the crack with a V-shaped squeegee to ensure a tight seal leaving permanent black lines where installed.
Without being treated, the moisture within the cracks will lead to further damage. At a low cost, crack sealing is an easy solution to ensure the asphalt's longevity.
